A strategy offsite that ends with decisions, not with a deck

Two days with your leadership team: an honest look at where you stand, three to five battles that decide the next year, and 90-day OKRs with owners. Senior, structured, and more fun than you would expect from a strategy offsite.

What we do

Strategy offsite and leadership workshop

Two formats, one standard: senior people in the room, a clear process, and decisions by the end of the day.

Two days

Strategy offsite

For leadership teams that need to choose. From an honest picture of today through Three Horizons to the critical few, owners and 90-day OKRs.

  • Face reality, open perspectives, pick the critical few
  • Commit the team, set 90-day OKRs, set the rhythm
  • A strategy on one page for the whole company
One day

Leadership workshop

For leadership teams whose strategy is set and whose execution is not. Alignment on what matters, decision rights, and a steering rhythm that survives the quarter.

  • Where execution stalls, and why, on the wall
  • Decision rights and escalation: who decides what, by when
  • Working agreements and the first check-in in the calendar

The process on one page

FOLLOW-UP

Keep the momentum

On request we facilitate the reviews and the first reset check

You leave with an honest shared picture, three to five critical battles with one owner each, a stop list that frees capacity, company-level OKRs for the next 90 days and a strategy on one page for the whole company.

The map is our starting point; the agenda is tailored to your team in the prep session.

How we work

Rigorous process, lively room

Six house rules. We propose them at the start; the team adopts or adapts them.

Facts before opinions

Results, customers and competitors go on the wall before anyone argues about the future.

Everyone writes before anyone speaks

Silent writing first, then clustering. The quiet voices shape the agenda, and the loudest view does not.

Provocations are welcome

Each option is seen from several deliberate angles. The point is to find the blind spot, with a smile.

Three to five, never more

Focus is what makes execution possible. Every battle on the list has to beat the ones that are not.

Pitch, vote, decide

Sixty seconds per pitch, one vote, one decision. Open points get an owner and a date, never a parking lot.

The calendar before we leave

The first review is booked before the offsite ends. That is the moment execution starts.

Who you work with

Two partners, one in the lead and one challenging

One of us runs the process, the other works the content with your team. Both have sat on the client side of strategy and on the facilitator side of more than a thousand workshops.

Questions

Questions about the strategy offsite

How long is a strategy offsite with Stryke?

Two days. Day one opens the view and ends with a few clear choices. Day two turns those choices into owners, 90-day OKRs and a rhythm. A single-day leadership workshop works when the strategy is set and the team needs alignment, decision rights and a steering rhythm.

Who is in the room?

Your leadership team, typically 8 to 15 people, and two of us: one leads the process, the other challenges the content. Both are senior; neither is a junior with a slide deck.

What do we need to prepare?

Very little. A one-hour prep session with structured questions on your strategy, your numbers and the decisions the offsite must make. We read what you already have; anonymised versions are fine and we sign an NDA on request.

Where does the offsite take place?

At a venue of your choice. We are based in Hamburg and come to wherever your team meets, in English or German.

What makes it more fun than the usual offsite?

Everyone writes before anyone speaks, so the quiet voices shape the agenda. Options are pitched in 60 seconds and voted on. Provocations are built in. And every discussion closes with a decision, which, in our experience, is the most energising thing a leadership team can do.

What do we leave with?

An honest shared picture, three to five critical battles with one owner each, a stop list that frees capacity, company-level OKRs for the next 90 days and a strategy on one page for the whole company.

Three Horizons is the framework by Baghai, Coley and White (McKinsey & Company, 1999). Stryke Consulting is not affiliated with McKinsey & Company or the authors. OKR stands for Objectives and Key Results.
